Spaces
Grant, change and remove people's and groups' access to Qlik spaces, in bulk, and understand controlled spaces on the Standard plan.
The Qovern app is in Portuguese. Screen and button names are shown as they appear in the app, with the translation in parentheses.
The Espaços (Spaces) screen (under Conteúdo, Content; administrators only) governs who can access each Qlik Cloud space. Qlik is the source of truth: the list is read live, and anyone added directly in Qlik shows up too.
See who has access
Choose the space in the picker (with search) and see the people and groups with access and each one’s roles. The space owner does not appear in the list, because Qlik does not treat ownership as an assignment.
Grant access
- Click Dar acesso (Grant access).
- Pick people or groups from the list, or paste a list of emails. Up to 50 at a time.
- Check the roles. Todos os papéis (All roles) checks or unchecks them all at once.
- Confirm.
If someone already had access, their roles are replaced by the new ones. A failure with one person does not stop the others, and the result shows who was left out. Emails that are not in the last sync are listed for you to check.
Change roles and remove
On each row, Alterar papéis (Change roles) replaces the set of roles, and remove takes the person or group out of the space. Each change goes into the audit trail, with before and after.
Give Qovern access to the spaces
To govern a space, Qovern’s service account must be a facilitator of it. Instead of adding it by hand in Qlik, space by space, use the Qovern access to spaces card at the top of the screen:
- Qovern checks live which spaces it is already a facilitator of and shows a summary (for example, “facilitator in 8 of 12 spaces; 4 missing”).
- If any are missing, click Grant the N missing. With a space chosen in the selector, Grant in this space grants just that one.
- The result comes space by space. A failure in one space doesn’t stop the others, and each grant is recorded in the audit log.
- Check again repeats the scan, useful if someone changed things in Qlik directly. When everything is granted, the grant buttons don’t appear.
If Qovern already had other roles in the space, they are kept. On the Standard plan, only controlled spaces are included.
Requirement: this automatic grant only works if the service account has the TenantAdmin role in Qlik. Without it, Qovern tells you and you need to add it to the space directly in Qlik.
Roles by space type
| Type | Roles |
|---|---|
| Shared | consumer, dataconsumer, producer, codeveloper, facilitator |
| Managed | basicconsumer, consumer, contributor, dataconsumer, facilitator, operator, publisher |
Data spaces are not supported yet.
Requirement: Qovern’s service account must be a facilitator of the space (see Give Qovern access to the spaces). Its row appears in the list, but it can’t be changed or removed, otherwise Qovern would lose control of the space.
Controlled spaces (Standard plan)
On the Standard plan, Qovern controls up to 5 spaces. Use Controlar este espaço (Control this space) to choose them. Outside them, the space’s apps and data are blocked in Qovern, even for viewing. The personal space is always free.
To prevent rotating spaces, a controlled space can only be released 30 days after it was chosen. There is a 30-minute grace window right after choosing, which can be used once every 30 days. The Pro and Enterprise plans have no space limit.
Releasing a space changes nothing in Qlik.
