Which Qlik versions does Qovern support?
All of Qlik in the cloud: Qlik Sense Business, Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS and Qlik Cloud Analytics. The only difference is the Data for analysis indicator, which only exists in Qlik Cloud Analytics with capacity-based licensing. Qlik Sense Enterprise installed on your own servers (client-managed) is not supported.
Does Qovern replace Qlik’s Section Access?
No. Qlik is still the one enforcing security. Qovern keeps the rules outside the script, generates the file, publishes it to Qlik and triggers the reload.
Do I need to change my apps’ scripts?
Not by hand. When you put an app under management, Qovern inserts a Section Access tab into the script by itself. The rest of the script is not changed.
Do the rules take effect as soon as I save?
No. Saving publishes the rules file to Qlik, but the rules only take effect after the app’s reload.
Can I use groups from my identity provider in the rules?
Yes. Each rule identifies who it applies to by email or by group. The group name must match Qlik’s, with the same upper and lower case.
Are my Qlik credentials safe?
Yes. The client secret is encrypted in the database, never goes through the browser and is not shown after it is saved. See Security and privacy.
What permissions does the service account need in Qlik?
It depends on what you will use: edit in the space to publish rules, space administrator for schedules, facilitator to grant people access to the space, and TenantAdmin to invite people and manage groups. See Getting started.
Does Qovern delete anything in Qlik?
Only when you ask: removing someone’s access to a space, deleting a user or a group, deleting a schedule. Changing plans, cancelling the subscription or releasing a space doesn’t delete anything in Qlik.
How many Qlik users can I govern?
No limit on any plan. The Standard limits are on managed apps, controlled spaces and people who use Qovern.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, Qovern’s screens adapt to phones. To edit many rules, a computer screen is more comfortable.
Is Qovern available in other languages?
The website and this Help Center are in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The app and the emails are in Portuguese.
